　　1.在区委、区政府的领导和区民宗局的业务指导下负责管理辖区内的民族宗教工作。
　　2.了解和掌握辖区内少数民族、信教群众、外来宗教人员、宗教活动场所等情況，发现问题，要善处理。
　　3.对涉及民族宗教方面的突发事件要及时向上级报告，并采取措施把问题处理在基层，处理在萌芽状态。
　　4.积极开展对辖区内宗教教职人员和宗教活动场所负责人的思想教育工作，引导宗教界参与社会主义现代化建设。
　　5.负责组织对社区干部进行民族宗教政策、法律法规的教育管理，提高干部的实际工作能力，引导和教育汉族与少数民族、信教群众与不信教群众互相尊重、加强团结，致力于经济发展、共建和谐社会。
　　6.加强对辖区群众进行爱国主义教育，破除封建迷信，崇尚科学，反对邪教，坚决制止乱建活动场所的行为。
　　7.健全涉宗教因素突发事件的处置应急预案，指导宗教活动场所制订各项应急预案，开展安全教育和应急演练，做好消防、建筑、饮食、活动、治安、档案等安全检查工作，确保场所安全。
　　8.指导宗教活动场所完善学习、议事、财务、档案、人员、报批、备案、安全、消防、卫生防疫、场所管理等规章制度，做到民主议事、民主决策、民主监督，用制度管人、管事、管财，切实做好教职人员社会保障工作。
